Retail banking has always been a game of numbers. This is why when Zanaco made the announcement that it would be partnering up with fast-food chain Hungry Lion which boosts of high foot traffic, it was clear that gaining market share was in their strategic playbook.
“In this partnership, Zanaco will be providing POS Machines for all 45 Hungry Lion Zambia outlets, cash collections via CIT, Forex services, Internet Banking, etax, enapsa, and Payflexi”, stated the Acting Chief Commercial Officer Chali Mwefyeni at the Zanaco – Hungry Lion Partnership signing ceremony on 8th February 2021.
The bank which ranks number two following recently published financial results is setting itself up to ensure that its plethora of products is easily accessible to its clients. Although its branch network is also expansive when compared to the guys in blue (Stanbic), the Hungry Lion Partnership ensures that their retail services are further expanded without the bank laying a single brick on another branch.
“As a bank, we believe in supporting businesses both local and international in a manner that contributes to their growth as well as the growth of the economy at large”, further added the Acting CCO. This relationship however also supports the banks strategic intent of reaching more of its targeted customers through ubiquitous readily available and convenient access to their products and services.
With the fast food chain firmly in bed with the bank, this opens up more possibilities in terms of diverse offerings of access to capital. “I wish to assure the Hungry Lion Management that our corporate and investment banking team have the expertise to structure more tailored solutions beyond what we are currently offering you. These solutions include trade financing, credit facilities, investment solutions, money market solutions and so much more”.
