In a statement issued on 11 August 2022, Company secretary, Chibuye Ngulube, announced changes to the Board of Directors of Chilanga Cement.
According to section 3.59 of the LuSE Listing Requirements, the Board of Directors of Chilanga Cement Plc (“the Board”) wishes to announce the appointment of Mr. Xu Gang and Mr. Qian Chen as new Directors of the Board effective 06th August 2022.
Mr. Xu Gang
Mr. Xu Gang holds a bachelor’s degree in Corporate Finance, a bachelor’s degree in Safety Engineering and a Master’s Degree in Business Administration. He specializes in project investment, business strategy and development, organizational structure, cement industry processing and safety management, sales, marketing, and commercial activities. Before he was appointed General Manager of the Overseas Business Unit of Huaxin Cement Co., Ltd (“Huaxin”) he served as Head of Growth & Innovation, Strategy and Marketing Director, Yunnan BU of Huaxin. He also served as Commercial Director of Guizhou, Chongqing, and Yunnan Bus and Integration, and Organizational and Strategy manager of Lafarge Shuion Cement Co. He additionally worked as Safety engineer, safety manager, and process manager of Beijing Xingfa Cement Plant.
Mr. Qian Chen
Mr. Chen Qian holds a bachelor’s degree in World Economics and a Master’s Degree in Business Administration. He is also a Chinese Certified Public Accountant and a Fellow Member of Chartered Global Management Accountant. Before he was appointed Vice President and Chief Financial Officer of Huaxin, he served as the Deputy Chief Financial Officer of Huaxin. Before joining Huaxin, he successively acted as Senior Auditor of PricewaterhouseCoopers, Senior Consultant of Monitor Consulting Group, Chief Financial Officer of Sika Group China, Chief Financial Officer of IMI Critical Engineering Greater China and Korea, Chief Financial Officer of CIF Bureau Veritas China, and Chief Financial Officer of Terminix Group China.
The Board looks forward to Mr. Xu Gang and Mr. Qian Chen’s vast contributions to the Company in their capacity as Directors on the Board of Directors and wishes them well.
