Liquid Telecom Zambia has announced that it will be a sponsor at the forthcoming PUSH Women Awards, according to a press release from the PUSH Women Network.
The PUSH Women Awards are a platform created by the PUSH Women Network to showcase the feats of pioneering women who are breaking barriers and disrupting gender norms by redefining the female experience. The sponsorship announcement is in line with the vision of Liquid Telecom to collaborate with strategic partners, and what better way than to share a platform that has become a shining example of what women are able to achieve when they are given the opportunity to be included and to participate.
“As Executive Director of THE PUSH Women Network I am pleased to announce that Liquid Telecom Zambia is a sponsor of the ICT award category at this year’s PUSH Women Awards”, said Col Mwizukanji Namwawa when she met with Liquid Telecom Zambia’s CEO Mark Townsend on her LinkedIn page.
“The PUSH Board Secretary Mutumu Nzala Mwape and I met with Liquid Chief Executive Officer, Mark Townsend where he observed that Liquid Telecom is committed to elevating and highlighting women and more specifically the various roles they hold in the ICT sector”, further read the LinkedIn post.
”The Network strongly believes that women must participate in every arena where decisions are made in order for them to offer their perspective, their expertise, and their competencies”.
Expressing his delight on Liquid Telecom coming on board as a sponsor, Mark said: “Liquid Telecom is committed to elevating and highlighting women and more specifically the various roles they hold in the ICT sector”. He further added that “these women serve as role models for young girls who are considering a future in ICT and prove that women are capable of anything.”
Liquid Telecom is an equal opportunity company and women are an integral part of the operations of the company. “Some of these women form key parts of Liquid Telecom Zambia’s operations, from Supply Chain Management to Enterprise and Legal to Customer Care”, added Mark. “Therefore, it makes us proud to partner with the PUSH Women’s Network, who bring powerful women together, by sponsoring the ICT Award to be presented at the PUSH Women’s Awards ceremony”.
The event was originally scheduled for 5th September 2020. However, due to COVID 19, a phone call to the organising committee indicated that they would be announcing a new date in the 3rd week of August 2020. It is anticipated that the glamourous event will be held sometime in October 2020 and as part of the sponsorship, Liquid Telecom has agreed to provide internet connectivity for the event.
The PUSH Women Awards pride themselves on being the gold standard of award ceremonies in the country and showcase a premium class, signature styled event akin to no other. “The PUSH Women Network is therefore pleased to have the support of corporate partners like Liquid Telecom Zambia in staging this occasion”.
