Three weeks into February 2022 on the Capital markets, yet another week of no bonds being traded. Since the beginning of the year there have not been bonds traded. The equities market recorded a score of 100% to 0% on the bond market. In comparison to this time last year we see the opposite as it was the bond market that recorded a 100% score.
During the week Airtel Plc recorded the highest turnover.

In the week ended 18th February 2022, a total of 278,433 shares were transacted in 339 trades, yielding a market turnover of K1,094,028. Trading activity was recorded in AFRICA EXPLOSIVES CORPORATION LIMITED, AIRTEL, BATA, BRITISH AMERICAN TOBACCO ZAMBIA, COPPERBELT ENERGY CORPORATION, INVESTRUST, CHILANGA CEMENT, MADISON FINANCIAL SERVICES, NATIONAL BREWERIES, PAMODZI, ZAMBIA REINSURANCE, PUMA, STANDARD CHARTERED ZAMBIA, ZAMBEEF, ZAMBIA METAL FABRICATORS, ZANACO, ZAMBIA CONSOLIDATED COPPER MINES, ZAMBIA SUGAR, FIRST QUANTUM MINING and CEC AFRICA on the quoted tier. The LuSE All Share Index (LASI) closed at 6,333.44 points. The market closed on a capitalization of K68,377,375,616 including Shoprite Holdings and K33,594,690,176 excluding Shoprite Holdings.
