Lafarge Zambia Plc has announced the appointment of a new Chief Financial Officer following the resignation of Mr. Raphael Chipoma in June 2019.
“Pursuant to section 3.59 of the LuSE Listing Requirements, the Board of Directors of Lafarge Zambia PLC (“Lafarge” or the “Company”), wishes to announce the appointment of Mr. Ahmed Khalifa as Chief Financial Officer effective 26 September 2019”, read a statement issued on SENS by order of the Board through Harriet Kapekele Katongo their Company Secretary on 27th September 2019.
After four months of acting as CFO, CEO Jimmy Khan can now rest and focus on running the Zambian outfit that has faced intense competition and recently announced that “the Earnings Per Share (“EPS”) for the six-month period ended 30th June 2019 is expected to be approximately 392% lower than for the six-month period ended 30th June 2018”
According to Ahmed’s LinkedIn profile, he has over “22+ years of experience financial executive”. He has also worked in a diversified range of industries that include construction, manufacturing, investment baking and retail coupled with cross-cultural experience in countries such as Egypt, GCC (KSA and UAE), North Africa (Algeria, Morocco, and Tunisia)” and Iraq.
He previously worked as Country Chief Financial Officer for Lafarge Cement Jordan which is a listed company in Amman stock exchange with 21% free float. Academically, he holds a degree in Commerce from Alexandria University in Egypt.
