Prima Reinsurance Plc has announced the retirement of David Kombe as Chairman of the Board, according to a statement from the Company.
“Pursuant to section 3.59 of the LuSE Listing Requirements, the Board of Directors of Prima Reinsurance Plc (“the Board”) wishes to announce the retirement of Mr. David Kombe as Director and Chairman of the Board effective 1st June 2020, after more than 10 years of service”, read a statement issued by Choice Corporate Services Limited who offer Company Secretarial services on behalf of the Board of Prima on 17th June 2020.
At his final AGM which was held on the electronic platform ZOOM in May 2020, David’s Board announced that it would pay investors in the company 7 ngwee per share.
The Board has further announced David’s replacement as Chairperson. “Furthermore, the Board would like to announce the appointment of Mrs Joyce Muwo Mwansa as Chairperson of the Board effective 15th June 2020”.
According to the published statement, “Mrs Mwansa is a Chartered Governance Professional and a Chartered Secretary qualified under the Chartered Governance Institute (formerly ICSA)-UK”.
The Board is further expressed excitement at the appointment of Joyce as she brings a wealth of experience and professional social capital to the reinsurance company. “She has vast experience in accounting and corporate secretarial services, having worked at Zambia Industrial and Mining Corporation Ltd (ZIMCO) and Zambia National Oil Company Ltd (ZNOC) and is a founding member and a Fellow of the Institute of Directors of Zambia as well as a Corporate Governance trainer”.
The Board remains indebted to the services rendered by David and has expressed optimize with the appointment of Joyce. “The Board would like to express its appreciation to Mr. David Kombe for his valued contribution during his tenure as Chairman of the Board and to congratulate Mrs Joyce Muwo Mwansa on her appointment”.
