On 11 August 2022, BRITISH AMERICAN TOBACCO (ZAMBIA) PLC announced through a statement issued by the company secretary that it is expected to post 60% higher earnings per share from the year prior.
The Board of Directors of British American Tobacco (Zambia) Plc (“the Board”) wishes to advise the Shareholders that for the period ending 30 June 2022, the basic earnings per share is expected to be between 60% higher than that of the corresponding period last year for both the group and for the Company.
This increase is due to the implementation of an optimal pricing strategy, improved sales mix, and improved operational efficiencies.
The Company expects its results for the half-year ended 30 June 2022 to be released on SENS and published in the local press on or about 12 August 2022. Accordingly, shareholders are advised to exercise caution when dealing in the Company’s securities until publication of the results.
