Two weeks into the month of November 2020, bond trading on the LuSE. There’s a 2% increase on the equities market from the previous week as it recorded a 7% to 93% on the bond market. Although, the insubstantial scores on the equities market, we saw increased trading activity in most of the companies securities this is mainly incented by the price losses recorded in some of the securities such as ZAMBIA CONSOLIDATED COPPER MINES, ZANACO,ZAFFICO as well as REAL ESTATE INVESTMENT ZAMBIA which prompted much of the trading.
Equity Market
In the week ended 13th November 2020, a total of 2,700,853 shares were transacted in 98 trades, yielding a market turnover of K2,952,506. Trading activity was recorded in AFRICA EXPLOSIVES LIMITED ZAMBIA, CEC ZAMBIA, LAFARGE, PUMA, REAL ESTATE INVESTMENTS ZAMBIA, STANDARD CHARTERED ZAMBIA, ZAMBEEF, ZAMBIAN BREWERIES, ZAMBIA METAL FABRICATORS, ZANACO, ZAMBIA CONSOLIDATED COPPER MINES, ZAMBIA FORESTRY and FOREST CORPORATION and CEC AFRICA on the quoted tier. The Index (LASI) closed at 3,855.33 points. The market closed on a capitalization of K57,259,375,876 including Shoprite Holdings and K23,020,169,896 excluding Shoprite Holdings.
Bond Market
Bonds of total face value of K62,646,000 were transacted in 5 trades, resulting in a market value sales of K40,366,000.
