Two weeks into July 2021 bond trading on the Lusaka Stock Exchange, and we revert back to our old pattern as the bond market completely dominates the equities market even with the bond market on recording trades on Thursday. In comparison to week two of July 2020 we see the same occurrence as the bond market recorded a 100% score.
Equity Market
In the week ended 09th July 2021, a total of 505,409 shares were transacted in 31 trades, yielding a market turnover of K659,251. Trading activity was recorded in AIRTEL, INVESTRUST, NATIONAL BREWERIES, PAMDOZI, ZAMBEEF, ZANACO, ZAMBIA CONSOLIDATED COPPER MINES and FIRST QUANTUM MINERALS. The LuSE All Share Index (LASI) closed at 4,782.58 points. The market closed on a capitalization of K61,075,251,379 including Shoprite Holdings and K26,830,610,604 excluding Shoprite Holdings.
Zambia Consolidated Copper Mines recorded the highest turnover during the week.
Bond Market
Bonds of total face value of K1,635,845,000 were transacted in 26 trades, resulting in a market value sales of K863,161,000.
