In the second week of Bond trading on the Lusaka Stock Exchange, two consecutive weeks of recording trades which we have not seen a while. The bond market eclipsed the equities market recording a score 91% to 9% on the equities side.
In comparison to week two of October 2020, which recorded a 1% on the equities market to 99% on the bond market.
Equity Market
In the week ended 15th October 2021, a total of 4,000,041 shares were transacted in 131 trades, yielding a market turnover of K5,235,631. Trading activity was recorded in AFIRCA EXPLOSIVES CORPORATION LIMITED, AIRTEL, BATA, BRITISH AMERICAN TOBACCO ZAMBIA, COPPERBELT ENERGY CORPORATION, LAFARGE, PAMDOZI, PUMA, REAL ESATE INVESTMENT ZAMBIA, STANDRAD CHARTERED ZAMBIA, ZAMBEEF, ZAMBIAN BREWERIES, ZANACO, ZAMBIA CONSOLIDATED COPPER MINES, ZAMBIA SUGAR, ZAMBIA FORESTRY and FOREST CORPORATION and CEC AFRICA quoted tier. The LuSE All Share Index (LASI) closed at 4,996.13 points. The market closed on a capitalization of K62,541,916,051 including Shoprite Holdings and K27,759,230,611 excluding Shoprite Holdings.

Bonds of total face value of K64,655,000 were transacted in 1 trade, resulting in a market value sales of K52,911,000.
