Two weeks into the month of January 2022 trading on the Lusaka Stock Exchange and there is still no much hope for the bond market as there were no bonds traded throughout the week. The equities market recorded a 100% to 0% on the bond market.

In comparison to week two of January 2021, which recorded a 79% on the bond market to 21% on the equities market. There was more trading activity on the bond market then than at now.
Equity Market
In the week ended 14th January 2022, a total of 750,788 shares were transacted in 484 trades, yielding a market turnover of K1,561,705. Trading activity was recorded in AFRICA EXPLOSIVES CORPORATION LIMITED, AIRTEL, COPPERBELT ENERGY CORPORATION, CHILANGA CEMENT, STANDARD CHARTERED ZAMBIA, ZAMBEEF, ZAMBIA METAL FABRICATORS, ZANACO, ZAMBIA CONSOLIDATED COPPER MINES, ZAMBIA SUGAR, ZAMBIA FORESTRY CORPORATION and CEC AFRICA on the quoted tier. The LuSE All Share Index (LASI) closed at 6,219.27 points. The market closed on a capitalization of K67,879,227,814 including Shoprite Holdings and K33,295,982,347 excluding Shoprite Holdings.
