As we come to the close of April 2023 in the fourth week of the month, there was very minimal trading activity on both the equity and bond market. There were on three days that recorded bond trades on the bond market as well as only eight company securities that recorded trades on the equity market. The bond market recorded a 100% score. In comparison to week four of April 2022, which recorded a 74% on the bond market to 26% on the equity market.

In the week ended 28th April 2023, a total of 349,111 shares were transacted in 233 trades resulting in a turnover of K4,179,979. Trading activity was recorded AECI MINING EXPLOSIVES,BATA, BRITISH AMERICAN TOBACCO ZAMBIA, COPPERBELT ENERGY CORPORATION ZAMBIA, CHILANGA CEMENT, MADISON FINANCIAL SERVICES, PUMA ENERGY, STANDARD CHARTERED BANK LIMITED, ZAMBEEF, ZAMBIAN BREWERIES, ZAMBIA METAL FABRICATORS, ZANACO and ZAMBIA SUGAR. The LuSE All Share Index (LASI) closed at 8,021.24 points. The market closed on a capitalization of K75,836,077,305.26 including Shoprite Holdings and K41,053,391,865.26 excluding Shoprite Holdings.
Bond Market
Bonds of total face value of K512,011,000 were transacted in 30 trades, resulting in a market value of K315,957,140.
