In the first week of June 2020 bond trading on the LuSE. We revert back to our old pattern, as the bond market eclipses the equities market. The equities markets glory was short lived as it recorded a score of 8% to 92% as compared to what we saw last week closing the month of May with a magnificent score of 63%.
Equity Market Update
In the week ended 5th June 2020, a total of 2,031,393 shares were transacted in 100 trades, yielding a market turnover of K14,637,085. Trading activity was recorded in AEL ZAMBIA, CEC ZAMBIA, LAFARGE, STANDARD CHARTERED ZAMBIA, ZAMBIA BREWERIES, ZAMBEEF and ZANACO. The Index (LASI) closed at 4,013.14 points. The market closed on a capitalization of K56,288,243,762 including Shoprite Holdings and K22,049,037,782 excluding Shoprite Holdings.

During the week, bonds of total face value of K227,133,000 were transacted in 36 trades, yielding a market value sales of K169,071,000.
