In the battle of opposites against the bond market and the equity market on the Lusaka Securities Exchange. In the second week of April 2023, yet another mundane week as once again the bond market recorded a 100% score to 0% on the equity side dominating it completely. In comparison to around this time last year, we see much more trading activity on the equity market as it recorded a 61% score to 39% on the bond market.
In the week ended 14th April 2023, a total of 299,809, shares were transacted in 246 trades, yielding a market turnover of K934,500.13. Trading activity was recorded AECI MINING EXPLOSIVES, COPPERBELT ENERGY CORPORATION ZAMBIA, CHILANGA CEMENT, PUMA ENERGY, STANDARD CHARTERED BANK LIMITED, ZAMBEEF, ZAMBIA METAL FANRICATORS, ZAMBIA REINSURANCE and ZANACO as well as CEC AFRICA on the quoted tier. The LuSE All Share Index (LASI) closed at 7,985.36 points. The market closed on a capitalization of K75,690,493,122.77 including Shoprite Holdings and K40,907,807,682.77 excluding Shoprite Holdings.
