On 7 July, 2022, National Breweries announced changes in directorate through a statement issued by the company secretary.
In accordance with Section 3.59(a) of the Lusaka Securities Exchange Listings Rules (“LuSE Listings Rules”), the Board of Directors (“the Board”) of National Breweries PLC (“Natbrew” or “the Company”) wishes to announce the retirement of Mr. Martin Makomva as Managing Director and Mrs. Vongai Chiwaridzo as Finance Director and Company Secretary, effective 30 June 2022.
Furthermore, the Board would like to announce the appointment of Mr. Kenneth Mapingire as acting Managing Director and Mr. Simbarashe Banga as acting Finance Director and Company Secretary of National Breweries PLC in the interim with effect from 1 July 2022.
Mr Mapingire is a holder of Bachelor of Business Studies(Hons) and a Masters in Business Administration from the University of Zimbabwe. He also holds a Post Graduate Diploma from the Institute of Marketing Management (South Africa). His career spans over 28 years and he has worked in Malawi, Zambia and Zimbabwe in a number of portfolios including sales, marketing and distribution for multinational corporations as well as regionally focused business. He has built extensive experience in market development and brand building.
Mr Banga is a chartered accountant and is a holder of a Bachelor of Commerce (Accounting) degree from NUST (Zimbabwe) and a B. Compt(Hons) from the University of South Africa. His career spans over 17 years, 12 of which he spent at Deloitte & Touche in the Zimbabwe office and Central African cluster (incorporating Malawi, Zambia and Zimbabwe). He has been serving as Finance Executive in Delta Beverages over the past 5 years.
