In the week ended 31st May 2019, a total of 774,831 shares were transacted in 101 trades, yielding a market turnover of K1,325,315. Share price losses of K0.14, K0.17, K0.51 and K0.01 were recorded in CEC Zambia, Real Estates Zambia, Standard Chartered Bank and CEC Africa respectively while BATA recorded a gain of K0.27.

The surge in trading for week 5 of May was the most bullish for the year thus far. The surge on the equities market was matched by a 144% surge in Bond sales for the week.
On the equities side, CEC Zambia was again in pole position as the highest traded security on the market.
Monthly Analysis
Due to the performance of the final week of trading for May, the month underperformed by a marginal 13% on turnover. However, there was a 24% dip in the number of shares traded when April and May are compared.
The bond market continued to outperform the equities market and maintained it 99% dominance of overall capital market performance.
