LUSAKA, Zambia – 23 May 2023 – Financial Insight Zambia (FIZ) hosted special Episode of the FIZ Show, where Cedric Chuma spoke to Anita Posch who is the Bitcoin Educator and Founder of Bitcoin for Fairness.
Speaking on this interview held on 23 May 2023in Lusaka, Anita said that, literally knew nothing about bitcoin crypto currency. The first time she heard about bitcoin was in 2011 and stated developing interest in 2017 after attending a bitcoin conference talk.
“The lady who was talking at the conference explained bitcoin very well, in simplest words and explained how one can basically empower people on a positive movement or positive technology. The talk motivated me to get much education about bitcoin. Eventually, I acquire the knowledge and became a full-time bitcoin educator. I share the same knowledge acquired, with other people, so that they can also learn and venture into bitcoin business without being scammed.” Anita said.
Anita did not only learn about bitcoin, also familiarised herself with other crypto currencies and after getting acquitted with other crypto currencies, bitcoin still remains her favourite on the basis that, it was actually the first crypto currency to exist in the whole world. It only made sense to her focusing much on one topic and from an educator’s side told herself that cannot know everything. Focusing on one thing, gives much weight. Anita stated that, bitcoin is trust less in the sense that a person does not need to trust somebody to be part of it. For instance, the basic invention of bitcoin is that, a person can convey money through internet without any need for an intermediary. Technology is well built, self-regulating and one only need to use bitcoin wallet to send money anywhere without putting trust on any person.
In a long run, Anita heighted the major differences between bitcoin and other crypto currencies. Bitcoin is the only crypto currencies which is really desexualised and cannot be censured. It was the first currency to be existed and every person using it is part of it. There is no person, entity or government which can decide what the next step will be, bitcoin is not influence able and there is no one who can change its position. Bitcoin is the most used and most dominant crypto currency of all the crypto currencies with a globally market value of 45% and the 55% is split into thousands of crypto currencies that exists. People can actually use bitcoin to send money and this is becoming common in most African countries. It is easy to do international trade, donations for NGOs, and one can buy airtime with bitcoin. Above all, suffice to mention that, the interesting part of bitcoin is that, a person can own bitcoin anywhere in the world even if one stays in Zambia you can own it from everywhere in the world with online content production and in online businesses People around the world can pay you directly through bitcoin.
Anita formed a foundation called bitcoin for fairness, on the basis that she saw the need for education in African countries where much problems are. Africa face many challenges especially with banking services. African banks are bit costly when it comes to fees. The solution of bitcoin is much needed and her intention was to share knowledge so that even other people can benefit from it. Anita has managed to share knowledge about bitcoin with many people and institutions in Zambia, including students from the University of Zambia where she has visited twice and every month she meets up with them and they ask questions about bitcoin and learn how it works. Not only that, Anita has also met with journalists and inform them about bitcoin and how it operates. This is because there is a lot of misinformation about bitcoin and the medial plays a pivotal role to inform and educate the people.
Anita encourages everyone to take part in bitcoin, especially women because in many countries women are restricted to inheritance of property, it is always the boys. It is for that reason, women must join bitcoin space, learn, understand and use it. Bitcoin Banamayo foundation will be launched soon in Lusaka Zambia, to enable everyone engage themselves and be part of the solution.
In summing up, Anita warned people not to engage themselves in situations where they can be scammed. “The moment someone invites you to join bitcoin and requests to send them money and they promise 100% or any percentage profit after certain period or per month that amounts to scam and people should avoid it. In bitcoin business, no person knows the future outcomes of business because bitcoin is technology which can goes up and down. Someone cannot correctly predict the future outcomes and people need to be prepared for up and downs results. Therefore, it is always advisable to learn from genuine people and never believe profit promises. We also have a book called learn bitcoin, for easy entry new beginners, to learn about bitcoin. They should buy it and it is also available on amazon website”. Anita concluded.
