Mining investment house ZCCM IH has named Tisa Reuben Chama as its choice temporary steward following the mutual separation of Chief Executive Officer Mabvuto Chipata, according to a statement from the Board.
According to the ZCCM IH website, Tisa is a Mining Engineer with over 25 years of working experience in the mining industry, having worked in various technical and operational roles. He has worked at operating mines in Zambia, Namibia, East Africa, and West Africa. He has worked for ZCCM, KCM, Rio Tinto, AGA, and Barrick as Planning Manager.
Prior to joining ZCCM-IH in November 2020, Eng. Tisa worked as Senior Principal Mining Engineer at AGA, Africa Region based at the corporate office in Johannesburg, South Africa. Mr. Chama has worked as a consultant on various projects from concept to feasibility levels of study covering various commodities. He has delivered on projects including Greenfield and Brownfield projects. He has a background of working in developing countries, having worked in different African countries providing project management and lead mining technical roles. His experience covers a range of commodities including copper, cobalt, uranium, and gold.
A holder of both an MBA in General Business Management and a BSc in Mining Engineering, Eng. Tisa takes over the investment house administratively for the duration the Dolika Banda led Board searches for a replacement.
One of Eng. Tisa first order of business will be to oversee the release of the 2021 financials. On 28th February 2022, the investment company indicated that its financial statements would be issued by 31 March 2022, as part of the new Board’s commitment to ensuring financial statements are issued on time in compliance with the various statutory, listing rules and regulations of the stock markets where ZCCM-IH is listed.
