Weekly Stock Market Review (15th to 19th February 2021)

In the third week of February 2021 trading on the LuSE seven companies’ securities recorded trades in comparison to week three of February 2020 which recorded ten companies securities, with Airtel as the highest priced security. Only three days recorded trades of which Tuesdays’ equity trading was the best performance of the week. Trading activity was recorded in AEL ZAMBIA, CEC ZAMBIA, ZANACO, STANDARD CHARTERED ZAMBIA, ZAMBIA SUGAR, ZAMBIAN BREWERIES and ZAMBEEF. COPPERBELT ENERGY CORPORATION recorded the highest Turnover throughout the week.

Monday 15th

There were no trades recorded today The LuSE All Share Index (LASI) maintained its close at 3,948.15 points, as there were no share price movements. The market closed on a capitalization of K57,509,780,951 including Shoprite Holdings and K23,276,009,766 excluding Shoprite Holdings. Kindly note the symbol change of Prima Reinsurance PLC, previously identified by the Symbol “PRIMA RE” – to Zambia Reinsurance PLC. which is to be identified by the symbol “ZAMBIA RE” from now on.

Tuesday 16th

In 31 trades recorded today, 100,833 shares were transacted yielding a market turnover of K122,020. Share price gains of of K0.06 were recorded in CEC ZAMBIA and of K0.01 in ZAMBEEF. Trading activity was also recorded in STANDARD CHARTERED ZAMBIA and ZANACO. The LuSE All Share Index (LASI) closed at 3,971.18 points, 0.58% up from its previous close of 3,948.15 points. The market closed on a capitalization of K57,610,286,783 including Shoprite Holdings and K23,376,515,598 excluding Shoprite Holdings.

In 36 trades recorded today, 54,262 shares were transacted yielding a market turnover of K86,610. Trading activity was recorded in AEL ZAMBIA, CEC ZAMBIA, FIRST QUANTUM MINING ZAMBIA, ZANACO and ZAMBIA SUGAR. The LuSE All Share Index (LASI) maintained its close of 3,971.18 points, as there were no share price movements. The market closed on a capitalization of K57,610,286,783 including Shoprite Holdings and K23,376,515,598 excluding Shoprite Holdings.

In 27 trades recorded today, 10,534 shares were transacted yielding a market turnover of K24,599. Trading activity was recorded in AEL ZAMBIA and STANDARD CHARTERED ZAMBIA. The LuSE All Share Index (LASI) maintained its close of 3,971.18 points, as there were no share price movements. The market closed on a capitalization of K57,610,286,783 including Shoprite Holdings and K23,376,515,598 excluding Shoprite Holdings.
