In the battle of opposites, in the second week of July 2022 on the Lusaka Securities Exchange. The bond Market eclipsed the equities market recording a score of 98% to 2% on the equities. Only one day during the week recorded trades in regards to the bond market. Copperbelt Energy Corporation Plc recorded the highest turnover during the week, in regards to the equities market.
In comparison to the second week of July 2021, the bond market recorded a 100%.
Equity Market
In the week ended 08th July 2022, a total of 332,884 shares were transacted in 338 trades, yielding a market turnover of K1,025,503. Trading activity was recorded in AFRICA EXPLOSIVES CORPORATION LIMITED, BATA, COPPERBELT ENERGY CORPORATION, CHILANGA CEMENT, NATIONAL BREWERIES, PUMA, STANDARD CHARTERED ZAMBIA, ZAMBEEF, ZAMBIAN BREWERIES, ZANACO, ZAMBIA SUGAR, ZAMBIA FORESTRY and Forest CORPORATION, CEC AFRICA INVESTMENT on the quoted tier. The LuSE All Share Index (LASI) closed at 6,864.68 points. The market closed on a capitalization of K70,812,431,370 including Shoprite Holdings and K36,029,745,930 excluding Shoprite Holdings.

IMPORTANT ANNOUNCEMENTS
Pursuant to section 3.59 of the LuSE Listing Requirements, the Board of Directors of Puma Energy Zambia Plc
wishes to announce the resignation of Mr. Knight Silumesii as Managing Director
and Executive Director of the board effective 15 June 2022. Mr. Silumesii continues to be employed in the Puma
Group. Furthermore, the Board has appointed Mr. Patricio Chababo as Managing Director and Mr. Stanley Chipeta
as Executive Director effective 15 June 2022.
Mr Chababo has over fifteen years of experience performing general management roles at a regional and global
level in the Mid-Downstream Petroleum Companies in Latin America and Africa. He is a Chartered Accountant
and holds a Bachelor Degree in Economics Sciences from the Universidad Nacional de Rosario, Argentina and
Advanced Development Program for General Management from London Business School. Prior to his
appointment Mr Chababo served as Puma Energy Zambia a Plc’s General Manager and has been part of the Puma
Energy Africa Group for over four years including an assignment as General Manager in Puma Energy Angola.
