In the first week of May bond trading on the Lusaka Stock Exchange the equities market performed fairly well during the week but it could still not come up against the bond market as it was completely eclipse by the bond market recording a 100% score which is a mirror of the first week of May 2020 as the graphs are identical.

In the week ended 7th May 2021, a total of 4,001,594 shares were transacted in 201 trades, yielding a market turnover of K3,936,446. Trading activity was recorded in AIRTEL, BATA, COPPERBELT ENERGY CORPORATION, LAFARGE, PUMA, ZAMAMBIABIA REINSURANCE, REAL ESTATE INSURANCE ZAMBIA, STANDARD CHARTERED ZAMBIA, SHOPRITE HOLDINGS, ZAMBEEF, ZANACO, ZAMBIA SUGAR and FIRST QUANTUM MINING.The LuSE All Share Index (LASI) closed at 4,131.40 points. The market closed on a capitalization of K58,191,665,106 including Shoprite Holdings and K23,947,024,332 excluding Shoprite Holdings.

Bonds of total face value of K1,635,688,000 were transacted in 35 trades, resulting in a market value sales of K822,004,760
