Four weeks into August 2021, bond trading on the Lusaka Stock exchange. Yet another week in which no trades have been recorded on the bond market leaving the equities market completely eclipsing it recording a score of 100% to 0%. Hoping for a turn around in the weeks to come.
Taking a look back at August 2020 in its fourth week we had the complete opposite, the bond market dominated the equities market recording a score of 99% to 0%.
Equity Market
In the week ended 27th August 2021, a total of 5,063,840 shares were transacted in 141 trades, yielding a market turnover of K5,217,404. Trading activity was recorded in AIRTEL, BRITISH AMERICAN TOBACCO ZAMBIA, COPPERBELT ENERGY CORPORATION, LAFARGE, PAMODZI, REAL ESTATE INVESTMENT ZAMBIA, STANDARD CHARTERED ZAMBIA, ZANACO, ZAMBIA CONSOLIDATED COPPER MINES, ZAMBIA FORESTRY and FOREST CORPORATION and FIRST QUANTUM MINING. The LuSE All Share Index (LASI) closed at 4,67.11 points. The market closed on a capitalization of K61,020,561,159 including Shoprite Holdings and K26,237,875,719 excluding Shoprite Holdings.
