Yet another mundane week as history repeats itself with the bond market eclipsing the equities market as it recorded a score of 93% to 7% on the equity market. which is 7% higher than its performance in the second week of December 2021.
Equity Market
In the week ended 9th December 2022, a total of 2,926,178 shares were transacted in 480 trades, yielding a market turnover of K32,845,005. Trading activity was recorded in AECI MINING EXPLOSIVES, AIRTEL NETWORKS, BATA, COPPERBELT ENERGY CORPORATION ZAMBIA, CHILANGA CEMENT, INVESTRUST BANK, MADISON FINANCIAL SERVICES, PUMA ENERGY, STANDARD CHARTERED BANK LIMITED, ZAMBIAN BREWERIES, ZCCM INVESTMENT HOLDINGS, ZAMBIA FORESTRY and FOREST CORPORATION, ZAMBEEF, ZANACO and ZAMBIA SUGAR as well as CEC AFRICA on the quoted tier. The LuSE All Share Index (LASI) closed at 7,336.59 points. The market closed on a capitalization of K72,866,533,168.65 including Shoprite Holdings and K38,083,847,728.65 excluding Shoprite Holdings.

Bonds of total face value of K711,316,740 were transacted in 40 trades, resulting in a market value sales of K429,478,460.
