Four weeks into September 2020 Bond trading on the LuSE, as we usually see a turnaround in the penultimate week of the equities market recording magnificent scores this wasn’t the case with this week as we reverted back to our old pattern of the bond market completely dominating the equities market recording a score of 0% to 100%. Although, investment in securities increased by 62% mainly on treasury bills. This was due to more liquidity in the market compared to the prior year. In the week ended 25th September 2020, a total of 15,591 shares were transacted in 40 trades, yielding a market turnover of K16,735. Trading activity was recorded in AFRICA EXLOSIVES LIMITED ZAMBIA, AIRTEL, BATA, COPPERBELT ENERGY CORPORATION, PUMA, REAL ESTATE INVESTMENT ZAMBIA, and STANDARD CHARTERED ZAMBIA. The Index (LASI) closed at 3,823.58 points. The market closed on a capitalization of K55,463,674,390 including Shoprite Holdings and K21,224,468,410 excluding Shoprite Holdings.

First Quantum Minerals Limited
TORONTO, Ontario (September 17, 2020) – First Quantum Minerals Ltd. (“First Quantum” or “the Company”) (TSX:FM) today announced that it is launching an offering (the “Offering”) of $1,000 million principal amount of Senior Notes due 2027 (the “Notes”).The Notes will be senior unsecured obligations of the Company and will be guaranteed by certain of the Company’s subsidiaries.
