The TechTrends Zambia Awards were launched in 2016 as a technology industry awards ceremony to recognise and celebrate individuals and companies that have made significant contributions to the digital ecosystem in Zambia by using technology to provide products and services. The awards are one of the most prestigious technology awards in the country. The Best Payment Aggregator award is a significant recognition of Cellulant’s leadership in the payments industry in Zambia.

With Tingg, businesses across Zambia can easily collect payments from their customers and send payments to their business partners using various payment methods and currencies. The platform is powering payments for businesses, banks and consumers across different sectors, such as Oil Marketing Companies (OMCs), FMCG, agribusiness, hospitality, transport and logistics. The company serves top merchants in these sectors, including Mt Meru, Oryx, Zambeef, Ross Breeders, Atheneon, and Granddaddy’s. Tingg is also secure, reliable, and easy to use, making it a preferred payment solution for many businesses in Zambia. With a presence in 37 African markets, Cellulant processed transactions worth over $12 billion in 2022 alone.

Speaking at the exclusive awards gala held at the Radisson, Blu Hotel in Lusaka, Gilbert Lungu, General Manager for Cellulant Zambia remarked, “In the past few years, key aspects of how consumers pay have been altered as a result of the pandemic. This award is a recognition of our efforts to provide innovative payment solutions that meet the needs of businesses and consumers in Zambia as digital payments continue to take off in the continent. We believe digital payments are key to driving economic growth and financial inclusion, and we will continue investing in innovative payment solutions that support this vision. “

In-store, Tingg’s leading product in Zambia is enabling merchants with physical stores to receive payment from customers via a QR code, USSD or a link. The Tingg In-store platform helps merchants accept all digital payments from customers available via web or  Android mobile apps without the need for third-party hardware and software. The solution also provides a single real-time reporting dashboard for cashiers and store managers to track and view multiple payments whilst reducing revenue leakage and operational costs associated with handling cash.
