The Ambassador of Brazil in Lusaka, Mr. Arthur Henrique Villanova Nogueira, will tomorrow, May the 4th, host the official launch of Tirolez in Zambia. Tirolez is a celebrated and famous cheese and butter brand from Brazil, already present on all continents. The launch, in association with Pani Trading Zambia, the exclusive distributor of the product, will be held at the residence of the Ambassador in the evening.
One of the directors of Pani Zambia, Mr. Anil Sumaraj is on hand to ensure that the cheese distribution reaches all the Zambian provinces. He is excited and encouraged by the market response and highlights that this will open more jobs for the youth as Pani currently employs 24 people – a team made of Zambians, for Zambians. Mr. Sumaraj is looking forward to broadening the cheese portfolio as this will create more job opportunities in the country. It is considered the first step in Pani’s investment strategy in Zambia.
With more than 40 years of history, the Tirolez brand has been on the Zambian market since November 2022 and has been well received by Zambian cheese and butter lovers. The brand has more than 34 products in its portfolio with at least 24 already in Zambia’s leading stores, Pick N Pay and Shoprite. A team from Tirolez Brazil has arrived in the country to grace the occasion as well as assure the market that Tirolez is here to stay and add value to the many people who love cheese and butter in Southern Africa. After Ghana and Angola, Zambia is the third African country where Tirolez dairy products are present. According to Ambassador Nogueira, the Embassy of Brazil is proud to be associated with this progressive initiative of trade between Brazil and Zambia and looks forward to more business partnerships between both countries. “Almost everything brings Brazil and Zambia together and, thanks to Pani and Tirolez, the quality of Brazilian cheese and butter, the pride in our dairy products and the trust in this partnership will also bring us closer”, he added.
The launch of Tirolez products will continue on Friday, in a special evening open to all the public. May the 5th is the World Portuguese International Day and, to celebrate this date, the Zambian-Italian Cultural Centre will host the screening of “Cousin Bazilio”, preceded by a cocktail with a tasting section of Tirolez cheeses. Directed by the Brazilian movie maker Daniel Filho, “Cousin Bazilio” is the adaptation of “O primo Basílio”, a classic novel by the Portuguese writer Eça de Queiroz. This screening will be the second movie session of the Diplomatic Club of Lusaka Film Festival. A good movie, with great cheese and wine, with free entrance, what can someone want else from the beginning of the weekend?
