As we begin the final month of the first quarter of the year, we see a pick up in the equities market as it recorded a 14% to a 86% on the bond market. Looking back at this particular time last year we see a somewhat better performance this year as it recorded a 2% to 98% on the bond market. It is quite evident that the impact of the COVID-19 pandemic is still negatively affecting companies securities’ trading on the LuSE as things have not completely bettered we have just gotten used to this new way of Life.

The Index (LASI) closed at 3,970.90 points. The market closed on a capitalization of K57,609,073,582 including Shoprite Holdings and K23,375,302,397 excluding Shoprite Holdings.

Bonds of total face value of K407,143,000 were transacted in 11 trades, resulting in a market value sales of K179,469,000.
