In a recent article published by the legacy Zambia Daily Mail of 24th November 2017, Kalonde Nyati reported on a business forum in Rome that was organized by Victoria Mushibwe (Charge d’Affaires at the Zambian mission in Roma) in conjunction with the Confindustria Assafrica Mediterraneo an umbrella body of business associations in Italy.
The Confindustria Assafrica Mediterraneo is the specialized business association of the Confindustria System that brings together, represents and supports Italian companies operating or interested in developing in the 70 countries of the Mediterranean, Africa and the Middle East. It an entrepreneurial association of the Confindustria System that is focused by geographical area and is multi sectorial.
HLB Reliance Zambia, led by Managing Partner, Shuko Ndhlovu, were present at the event and gave a stellar presentation whilst representing the private sector from Zambia. Their operations in Zambia can deliver one or two individual services, an entire function (e.g. tax, audit, accounting or HR), or an end-to-end business process. They transform and manage existing services, or create and run completely new ones, and they can bring those services, or full solution, to clients in a number of ways, adapting them to the client’s particular needs.
Participation in such events is of critical importance for the business community. By taking the bold step to participant, HLB Zambia now embeds itself into the DNA of business in Zambia. Their concern of ensuring that Zambian businesses remain going concerns breathes life into investors who are keen to come and create value in Zambia. Investors’ pursuits have to be matched by local businesses being able to sustain their businesses. This is the gap that HLB Zambia has come to fill in.
A closer look at other representatives from Zambia which included the likes of Zambia Development Agency, Industrial Development Corporation, Lusaka South Multi-Facility Economic Zone, Public Private partnership unit and Development bank of Zambia indicates that HLB was in the company of development minded entities the seek to see Zambia move forward. Conversely, the other entities also had an opportunity to tap in the astute business leadership of the firm and its understanding of the mechanics of business and tax in Zambia.
