ZANACO Bank Plc has announced the retirement of Charity Lumpa as Chairperson of the Board, according to a statement from the Bank.
“Pursuant to Section 3.59 of the Listing Requirements the Board of Directors of Zanaco Plc (“the Board”) wishes to inform the Bank’s shareholders and the public that Mrs Charity Chanda Lumpa has retired as Chair of the Zanaco Board effective 31st March 2021″, read a statement published on SENS and issued by Kaluba G. Kaulung’ombe-Inampasa the Bank’s Company Secretary by order of the Board on 1st April 2021.
Charity leaves the bank after it announced it had recorded a Profit After Tax (PAT) of K207 million in its 2020 financial year which was the highest PAT ever for the bank which is now under the stewardship of CEO Mukwandi Chibesakunda. “The Board would like to thank Ms Lumpa for the immeasurable service she rendered to the Board and for the numerous achievements of the Bank under her leadership from 30th March 2015 to March 31st, 2021. The Board wishes her the best in her future endeavours”.
The Board now looks to a seasoned Chartered Accountant in Hastings Mtine to Chair the Board. Hastings has until recently been Managing Partner of MPH Chartered Accounts and was former a managing partner at one of the BIG FOUR global accounting firms in Zambia.
Hastings announcement as Chairperson also came with other announcements by the Board of new members to join in the team that would provide Mukwandi with the solid governance structures required to led the bank to further profitablity. “Furthermore, the Board wishes to announce the appointment of Mr David Musunga and Mrs Regina Mulenga as directors of the Board, as well as the appointment of Mr Hastings Mtine and Mr Patrick Wanjelani as Board Chair and Vice-Chair respectively effective 31st March 2021”.
