Two weeks into May 2020 corporate bond trading on the LuSE, we see a turn around for the equities market as it is not completely eclipsed by the bond market as it records a 3% to 97% hopefully this time the equities market can hold its glory and not revert to the constant pattern of being completely dominated, as we saw last week.
Equity Market Update
In the week ended 15th May 2020, a total of 145,400 shares were transacted in 49 trades, yielding a market turnover of K736,896. Trading activity was recorded in AIRTEL, BATA, CEC ZAMBIA, STANDARD CHARTERED ZAMBIA, SHOPRITE, ZAMBIA BREWERIES, ZANACO and CEC AFRICA on the quoted tier. The Index (LASI) closed at 4,082.86 points. The market closed on a capitalization of K56,591,699,172 including Shoprite Holdings and K22,352,493,192 excluding Shoprite Holdings.
Bond Market Update 15th May 2020
During the week, bonds of total face value of K34,488,000 were transacted in 16 trades, yielding a market value sales of K20,318,000.
