With only 8 weeks of its 2019 financial year remaining, REIZ has announced the resignation of one of its Directors from the board, according to a statement released by the listed company.
“Pursuant to section 3.59 of the LuSE Listing Requirements, the Board of Directors of Real Estate Investments Zambia Plc (“REIZ” or the “Company”) wishes to announce the resignation of Mrs Banja Mkwanazi Kayumba as Director of the Board effective 05 November 2019”, read a statement issued by Moses Vera, the company secretary, on SENS on 12th November 2019.
Banja is a financial markets expert, who has extensive experience in Financial Markets and is the first female treasurer in Zambian capital markets space to have held the prestigious role of Treasurer at Barclays Bank Zambia Plc and in the market, according to her LinkedIn profile.
Her career spans back to her days at Citi Bank Zambia in 2001 where she was Head of Treasury Sales. She then moved to Barclays Bank Zambia where she held the role of Head of Global Markets in 2003. She held a number of roles before exiting the blue bank as Corporate Banking Director in July 2019. During her tenure at the bank, she was involved in landmark transactions in key sectors of the economy in excess of US$6bn, according to her profile on the REIZ website.
The Board will certainly miss the Masters in Finance and Bachelor’s Degree in Business Administration holder (University of London and Copperbelt University respectively) who provided insight into capital raising for the expansive pursuits of the property company. “The Board would like to express appreciation to Mrs Mkwanazi Kayumba for her valued contribution to the Company during her tenure as a director and wishes her well in her future endeavours”.
Banja’s expertise will not doubt be available to the market as she takes on a quieter and relaxing role as a Finance and Investment specialist with an enviable track record.
