The property investment company, Real Estates Investment Zambia (REIZ) has announced the resignation of one of their longest service directors, Dr. Elizabeth Nkumbula, from the board, according to a statement issued by the company.
“Pursuant to section 3.59 of the LuSE Listing Requirements, the Board of Directors of Real Estate Investments Zambia Plc wishes to announce the resignation of Dr Elizabeth Lungu-Nkumbula as a non-executive director of the Board effective 10 September 2019”, read a statement issued by Moses Vera, Company Secretary of the company on 10th September 2019.
The recipient of the 2017 Africa’s most influential women in business and government award, has served on the REIZ board as a non-executive director since 2012 making her one of the longest serving members of the board.
The board she exits is highly indebted to her loyal service as expressed in their SENS announcement. “The Board would like to express appreciation to Dr Nkumbula for her valued contribution to the Company during her tenure as a non-executive director of the Board and wishes her well in her future endeavours”.
Presently, Elizabeth C. Lungu Nkumbula occupies the position of Chairman for Mukuba Pension Trust Fund and Chief Executive Officer of Workers Compensation Fund Control Board.
She is also on the board of 6 other companies, according to Marketscreener.com. In the past she was Managing Director at Pan African Building Society, President at Agricultural & Commercial Society of Zambia and Deputy President at The Royal Agricultural Society of The Commonwealth. She received a doctorate from Washington International University and an MBA from The University of Lincoln.
